Home      Message from Our Elders
And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24: 15)

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. What a powerful commitment. If asked, would you make this commitment? Our church is very typical in that approximately 80% of the work required to keep our church operational and our church services Lord pleasing are completed by approximately 20% of the members. Which side of the 20% are you on? Ever wonder what you can do to help that would provide a valuable service to Prince of Peace and would be appreciated by all?

We have two immediate openings that come to mind, where you would add value while meeting some really great people. Neither of the options would require a large time commitment but would be filling a great need for the church.
The first is to assist as an usher at our second service. Paul Primuth talked to members attending each service a couple of weeks ago requesting volunteers to assist with helping as a Sunday second service usher. Not one person talked to Paul about helping. We need three people each Sunday. We need your help. Paul is trying to organize several teams where you may have usher duty once every 3 to 6 weeks depending on the number of volunteers.

The second opening is selling Scrip at our Saturday evening service or between our Sunday services. Selling Scrip is a fantastic way to help our pre-school, and it takes a surprisingly small amount of your time and effort. There is a sign-up sheet on the Scrip bulletin board. Duties include taking orders from members, filling the previous week’s orders and selling Scrip that is available for immediate sale.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Please prayerfully consider serving the Lord with your time as an usher and / or as a Scrip helper.
